Welcome to Western Technical-Commercial School

Western Tech's Gifted/Enriched Program

Located in the outstanding facilities of Western Technical-Commercial School (WTCS), the Gifted/Enriched Program offers an exciting alternative to regular academic programs. The courses for the program have been enhanced so that they are appropriate to the needs of the Gifted/Enriched students. This does not necessarily mean a heavier workload. Curriculum material is generally presented at a quicker pace, and with more depth and breadth. All compulsory credits in the Ontario curriculum are offered as self-contained Gifted/Enriched classes. For example, in Gr.9 students take Math, Science, English, French and Geography in self-contained Gifted/Enriched classes.

Western Tech's Gifted/Enriched Program offers an exciting alternative to regular academic programs.
Some of the highlights of our program include:

  • An enhanced curriculum for students looking for a stimulating academic program

  • Teachers who are sensitive to the needs of Gifted/Enriched students

  • A Gifted/Enriched Program Coordinator with dedicated time to work with students

  • Extra-curricular activities and field trips geared especially to Gifted and Enriched students
